Nature & Purpose of Position:Works with the Department of Psychology & Philosophy office providing support to office staff, faculty and students. Primary duties include managing front office desk, answering phones, emails, and providing general University information to department visitors. Student will maintain office supply inventory, organizing files, conference room set-ups, attending events, and other tasks assigned by office staff.
General Duties:
- Provide Customer Service (greeting incoming visitors, answering phone calls and emails)
- Support the day-to-day office responsibilities.
- Prepare materials for programs and events (i.e., giveaways, folders and bags, etc.)
- Assist with programs and events as needed.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:A successful candidate will be able to do the following:
- Work effectively as a member of a high-paced team, both independently and in groups
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a self-starter, responsible, reliable, punctual, and able to maintain workplace confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Collaborates effectively with staff, faculty, and fellow student workers.
- Maintains courteous, respectful, and appropriate behavior at all times.
- Helps create a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- Able to learn quickly and follow through without constant supervision
