Substitute Paraprofessional Barstow, CA at Go Spindle

Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school district is seeking a dependable Substitute Paraprofessional to work in classroom settings and provide academic and behavioral assistance on a flexible basis. The selected candidate will support students of varying needs, collaborate with educators, and adapt quickly to different classroom environments. Completion of required state-mandated fingerprinting and background clearance is required.
Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers by supporting lessons, preparing materials, and helping students engage in classwork.

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students needing extra instructional or behavioral support.

• Supervise students during transitions, classroom tasks, and non-instructional periods.

• Monitor student behavior, follow established routines, and help maintain a safe and structured learning environment.

• Document student progress and observations, and communicate appropriately with supervising staff.
  Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary coursework in education or child development preferred.

• Experience working with children or students in an educational, tutoring, or support role preferred.

• Willingness to complete and clear fingerprinting and background check per state requirements.

• Strong communication, patience, adaptability, and the ability to follow instructional guidance.

• Comfortable working in dynamic classroom settings and supporting diverse learners.
