Job Overview
The Suite Busser plays a vital role in assisting Suite Servers and ensuring exemplary first-class service for Suite patrons and their guests. While concentrating on the specifically assigned suites, the Suite Busser is a part of the service team and must work together with the Suite Server to provide every customer with the highest level of service possible in a fast, efficient manner. The Suite Busser is expected to perform to a higher standard than restaurant bussers by exhibiting greater attention to detail, remembering VIP client preferences, and assisting with set up and maintaining buffet, and tidying up the suites throughout the day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Stock and restock items in both the suites and the kitchen as needed.
- Assist servers by clearing the suites and removing used dishes and glassware.
- Take proactive actions based on training without waiting for instructions.
- Set up for the next day with glasses and silverware.
- Reposition chairs and tables as necessary with guests’ preferences in mind.
- May assist with attaining Racing forms and programs for the guests.
- May assist with picking up food from another outlet onsite and bringing back to the suite.
- May respond to guests’ needs in absence of Suite Server; communicate any special requests by the guests to the Suite Server and/or F&B Manager.
- Assists with identifying and resolving problems or guest complaints.
- Aid in the proper closing of suites under the direction of the on-duty manager.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is required.
- 1-3 years of bussing or serving experience is preferred; Experience bussing at Gulfstream Park is preferred.
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse angry situations and collect accurate information to resolve conflicts.
- Basic fluency of English language required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.
