Thisposition is responsible for coordinating all repairs, maintenance,and Capital Expense projects, while ensuring equipment, buildingrequirements are maintained at the highest efficiency levelpossible. A Supervisor must be able to teach and mentor othertechnicians, including but not limited to, company policies andprocedures, repair functions, work orders, assist in evaluation ofshop Teammates, recording of data into the maintenance softwaresystem, maintaining an accurate parts inventory, and therequirements for maintaining a clean and safe workingenvironment.

What you'll doas a Transportation Maintenance Supervisor:
  • Develop budgets forrepair, maintenance, supplies, third party support and spare partsinventory.
  • Negotiate maintenance contracts andother third-party support for theTransportation.
  • Identify, prioritize andcoordinate the daily activities of Technicians, inspire thedepartment to achieve desired results in productivity, teamwork,safety and task proficiency.
  • Ensure thetraining and development of the team on all technical aspects ofTran's maintenance including, but not limited to, refrigeration,heavy duty tractors, trailer repair.
  • Maintainproper staffing, required training andcertifications.
  • Utilize computerizedmaintenance system "Fleet Assistant" to optimize asset utilizationthrough scheduled preventivemaintenance.
  • Monitor expenses by function andequipment.
  • Able and willing to provide "handson repairs" to all equipment repairsrequired.
  • Maintain an adequate spare partsinventory, monitor purchasing and expenseactions.
  • Develop and foster strong vendor andcontractor relationships to ensure the best quality, cost andcustomer service for the Transportation.
  • Worknights and weekends if required for supervision or work-relatedproblems.
  • Maintain and monitor safety processesto keep the Trans Shop in compliance with all federal, state andlocal regulations.
  • Effectively communicate bothwritten and orally with supervisor andpeers.
  • Followdirections.

  • Maintain a flexible work schedule tomeet the changing needs of the job.

Qualificationsyou'll bring as a Transportation Maintenance Supervisor:
  • Have a 4-year degreeor equivalent professional training and experience in heavymaintenance discipline.
  • Have 5 or more years ofmaintenance supervision experience in an automotive or heavy-dutyshop.
  • Possess outstanding leadership qualities,including assertiveness, organization, enthusiasm, decisiveness,planning, confidence and accountability.
  • Haveexcellent verbal and written communicationskills.
  • Possess strong analyticalskills.
  • Be willing to work flexiblehours.
  • Have strong technical working knowledgeof Medium/Heavy equipment.
  • Possess computerskills including Windows, MSOffice and maintenance related computersystems.
  • Have 5 - 7 years job experience onmajor diesel repairs, heavy duty tractor- trailer repairs, majorrefrigeration maintenance and repairs.
  • Possessa Valid Class C Driver's License. Prefer ClassA.
  • Preferred knowledge to handle all trailerand reefer repairs.
  • Have half of the followingcertifications with the other half achieved in 90 days ofemployment:
    • A current ASE certification inMedium/Heavy Truck Brakes (Test T4)
    • A currentASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Suspension and Steering(Test T5)
    • Have one or all certifications inCummins, Detroit or Maxx Force 13 Engines
    • Brakesystems and components
    • Tractor diagnostics andrepairs
    • Spicer-fuller, Eatontransmissions
    • Spicer-fuller, Eatondifferentials
  • Haveknowledge of OSIIA, EPA, DOT and CSA related procedures and safetyregulations.
  • This position requires the abilityto read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient toperform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includesunderstanding work instructions, safety protocols, andcommunications essential to the role. The requirement is directlyrelated to the nature of the job and ensures compliance withworkplace safety and operationalstandards.
