Support Staff at The Ground at Rittenhouse Square

? Rittenhouse - Reports to: Shift Lead / Manager on Duty

We’re The Ground, a plant-filled, high-volume café and gift shop serving specialty coffee, creative seasonal drinks, and fresh pastries in a cozy (but always bustling) space. We're on the lookout for House Support Staff - aka the behind-the-scenes glue that keeps our baristas, kitchen team, and customers thriving.

This is an entry-level, hourly role for someone who’s flexible, reliable, tidy, kind, and eager to pitch in wherever needed, whether it’s slicing veggies, restocking baked goods, keeping up with dish flow, or doing a quick sweep before the doors open. Weekend availability is a must, and there are opportunities for growth for those who show hustle, teamwork, and attention to detail.

• Help restock the grab & go case and pastry displays (FIFO = your motto)

• Support baristas with light tasks during peak hours and drink rushes

• Empty trash + recycling 

• Maintain ice levels and monitor machine cleanliness

• Tackle dishes like a pro, keeping bar, kitchen, and pastry tools moving

• Assist with basic food prep: slicing, portioning, mixing, etc.

• Help with kitchen cleanliness: sweep, mop, wipe, and organize

• Lend a hand to the kitchen team when service is heavy or wraps need wrapping

• A team-player mindset  - no task is beneath you, and you jump in without being asked

• Reliable + punctual - people are counting on you to keep the ship running

• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

• Availability to work weekends and early mornings or mid-day shifts

• Food or café experience a plus, but not required - we’ll train the right person
