Jon & Vinny’s is a fast-paced, high-volume, all-day restaurant serving several Los Angeles communities 7 days a week. What you’ll do:

The Support Utility position will be responsible for the following: 

  • Maintain a clean and organized backwait station fully stocked with takeout containers and service items (napkins, utensils, towels, china). Communicating with management if any of these items is low or missing.
  • Move with urgency to pre-bus, bus, wipe and reset tables throughout the dining room. Support - Busser must move with care and be detail oriented at all times - cleanliness is a top priority for the restaurant. Plates should never be stacked on the table and glasses should never be “chandeliered”.
  • Run food with accuracy and place plates on tables with grace. 
  • Communicate with hosts, managers and expo constantly - Support Utility staff are the eyes and ears of the restaurant. Hosts need to know how far through their experience guests are, expo needs to know if there are any issues with food, managers need to know about any compromises to service.
  • Provide a friendly and hospitable first impression to all guests. Warmly greet every guest that walks in the door and say goodbye to everyone that leaves. Acknowledge and learn names of regulars, our neighbors, and friends of the restaurant.
  • Able to thoughtfully describe all menu items and be aware of available modifications and possible allergens in each dish, and using this knowledge to provide suggestions to guests. 
  • Respect everyone in the building - maintaining cleanliness, acknowledging all employees, using respectful language, dressing appropriately and working with everyone else in the building to be helpful. Maintaining a positive attitude is important every day.
  • Show up ready to work. Attire should be clean and wrinkle-free.
  • Respect the facility - pick up trash, clean up after yourself, take the initiative to clean, finish your sidework, letting managers know if anything is in disrepair.
  • Run food or drinks, assist in pre-bussing tables, sweep floors, help teammates in the FOH or BOH, being present and aware in order to assist with any spills or special requests.
  • Know your schedule and show up to work on-time. Awareness and self-management with break times and clock out times is crucial to the success of each shift.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily - Responsible for 30 minute cleanings of the bathroom and restock.
  • Daily -Regular floor sweeping to ensure the floor is at its best.
  • Once a week (Thursdays) deep scrub of the bar floor with brushes and squeegee.
  • Reorganization of dry storage and deep clean once a week (Fridays)
  • Reorganization of Manager office and deep clean once a week (Sundays)
  • Dusting and realigning the pizza box cubbies daily. (Daily)
  • Restock on to-go sticker station. (Daily)
  • Baseboard and wall cleaning weekly. (Sundays)
  • Coaching and training of all new staff to ensure full standards are met. (Daily)

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
