Responsible for providing timely and accurate responses to incoming telephone calls and overhead paging systems. Furnishes appropriate information to callers and obtains sufficient details to accurately route calls and inquiries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Front line communication representing the practice
- Answers all incoming calls to switchboard and routes calls appropriately
- Personable and friendly employee with ability to greet patients in a pleasant manner
- Employee must demonstrate confidence, professionalism, responsiveness and exceptional customer service skills
- Communicate effectively and understand callers needs. Transfer calls and share information quickly and accurately
- Ability to recognize emergency situations and how and who to contact in such given situation
- Responsible to coordinate with answering service to open and close switchboard
- Responsible to correlate or communicate physician schedule changes with answering service and other clinics
- Relays messages to clinics/offices accurately
- Ability to answer patient inquiries
- Superior knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations and privacy rules
- Strict adherence to issues of patient confidentiality
- Support the staff on various projects, but not at the expense of the phone coverage
- Perform other duties assigned by manager
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Previous customer service experience
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with handling multiple phone lines
- Basic MS Word and Excel?
- Must be detailed oriented
- Self-starter and able to work independently
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Professional attitude and demeanor, must have excellent phone and communication skills
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum high school graduation
- Preferred two-year college degree or equivalent two-year work experience in healthcare facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal office environment.?Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence.?Occasional overtime may be required.
