Senior Systems Engineer (Systems Engineer IV)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer (Systems Engineer IV) to join a dynamic team supporting complex, mission-critical defense and technology programs. This position offers the opportunity to lead the development and integration of cutting-edge systems that enhance national security and operational readiness.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across the systems engineering life cycle—from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and sustainment. This role requires both technical depth and strong leadership, with the ability to translate emerging technologies into practical, secure, and reliable solutions within Department of Defense (DoD) environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, integration, and transition of advanced system technologies into operational environments

  • Provide technical leadership throughout the systems engineering life cycle, ensuring solutions meet performance, cost, and schedule goals

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define system requirements and technical specifications

  • Ensure compliance with DoD systems engineering, cybersecurity, and accreditation standards

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and engineering artifacts in accordance with program requirements

  • Support testing, evaluation, and configuration management of complex systems


Required Skills & Experience

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Minimum of 10 years of systems engineering experience within DoD or similar complex technical environments

  • Expertise in systems design, integration, testing, and implementation

  • Proven experience transitioning emerging or prototype technologies into operational systems

  • Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills

  • In-depth understanding of DoD systems engineering and cybersecurity compliance frameworks


Education & Certifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

Preferred:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
