Job Summary

Responsible for the administration of computer systems.

Responsibilities

Typical Allocation of Duties:

Install, test, maintain, and monitor - 20%
Install, test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems.

Troubleshoot malfunctions - 20%
Troubleshoot program and system malfunctions to restore normal functioning.

Confer with clients - 20%
Confer with clients regarding the nature or information processing and computational needs.

Coordinate and link - 20%
Coordinate and link computer systems to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.

Develop and implement plans - 20%
Analyze needs and plans, designs, and implements computer system to meet those needs.

Supervisor Expectations:

  • Support and maintain Windows Servers with Microsoft SQL Server installations.

  • Supports the virtual desktop environment used in student labs, classrooms, and online courses.

  • Develops and supports user account automation scripts that establish student access to resources using PowerShell.

  • Support Microsoft Teams requests for students' VSU online courses.

  • Support identity access systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID, and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

  • Familiarity with supporting virtual environments with VMWare, ProxMox, HyperV, Azure, or Amazon Infrastructure Services.

  • Familiarity with Linux, Containers, and GitLab.

  • Assist with the monitoring of identity and endpoint infrastructure.

  • Assist with compliance, inventory, and security reporting.

  • Assist with knowledge sharing, documentation, and training with identity management services.

  • Assist with project planning on various Information Technology projects.

  • Provide customer service to aid faculty, staff, and students.

Required Qualifications

Required Experience
Associate's degree and three (3) years of related work experience.

$51,854
