Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Lead is responsible for developing and leading the College’s recruiting strategy and for overseeing the Talent Acquisition function of the College including recruitment, search committee training for employees, and onboarding. The Talent Acquisition Lead maintains the highest standards in all recruitment and hiring activities with particular focus on the candidate, employee and hiring manager experience. The Talent Acquisition Lead is expected to work independently and collaboratively, follow guidelines, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills with a wide variety of College stakeholders, and an ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace. This role is responsible for supervising the Talent Acquisition Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job.   1. Oversee the hiring process and ensure compliance of all hiring procedures.
  2. Develop, document, and implement recruitment strategies.
  3. Post approved job openings to various job boards, professional organizations, social networks, and other resources as necessary.
  4. Identify recruitment events to participate in, coordinate logistics for identified events, and represent the College at events.
  5. Act as the point-of-contact for job board and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) technical issues and ensure applicants follow the appropriate workflow in the ATS.
  6. Schedule and facilitate search committee orientation.
  7. Assist search committees with the creation of screening rubrics.
  8. Inform and educate search committees in matters of EEOC and bias.
  9. Review and retain screening, interview, and reference documentation, consistent with College retention guidelines.
  10. Lead the offer process, including audit and approval of requisitions to hire, and creation of offer letters and employment contracts.
  11. Oversee the background check process, including but not limited to criminal background, drug/alcohol, and confirm receipt of verified motor vehicle results when required.
  12. Assist in the development of retention strategies.
  13. Lead new employee orientation in collaboration with team members from HR and other departments.
  14. Maintain relevant areas of the HR web page and intranet, collaborating with others on necessary updates and changes.
  15. Establish metrics and generate routine and ad-hoc reports using the ATS and other systems.
  16. Maintain tracking of vacant positions.
  17. Manage sensitive and confidential information.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or related field
  2. Two (2) years of recruitment process and best practices experience
  3. Two (2) years leading a talent acquisition function
  4. Two (2) years of people management experience
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state legislation and regulations governing human resources functions

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in higher education
  2. HR certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP)
  3. Demonstrated experience with implementing strategies to increase the recruitment of diverse employees
  4. Demonstrated experience with internet sourcing
  5. Demonstrated experience using an ATS
  6. Demonstrated experiencing using an HR Information System

Work Schedule:

8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
