Position Overview
The Tax Manager will oversee and manage the tax compliance and planning responsibilities of the organization. This role involves ensuring compliance with tax regulations, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and leading tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of tax laws, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and laws
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency
- Conduct research on various tax issues and advise on tax implications
- Review and manage audits conducted by tax authorities
- Lead a team of tax professionals and provide mentorship and guidance
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax compliance
- Prepare and present tax-related reports and presentations to management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or tax management
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
