About the RoleThe Tax Senior II position is suited for individuals with 4-8 years of public accounting experience, a CPA license, and a degree in accounting or a master's degree with a tax or accounting specialization. Professionals at this level are expected to:
- Understand and apply firm policies and procedures effectively.
- Demonstrate technical expertise sufficient to supervise and guide staff accountants.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on long-term loyalty.
- Exhibit leadership qualities and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
When assigned to tax engagements, the Tax Senior II will:
- Demonstrate mastery of relevant Internal Revenue Code (IRC) sections and regulations, and proactively share updates with the team.
- Conduct thorough tax research using available reference sources and tools.
- Identify training needs for staff and initiate in-house or external training sessions.
- Begin managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing tax return preparation and other tax-related engagements for those clients.
