Job Description
Take your passion for teaching to help kids from hardplaces learn and grow! The Classroom Teacher is to develops thestudent's skills, knowledge, concepts, generalizations, principles,appreciations, and attitudes that will promote the fullest possibledevelopment and assist him/her in valuing the dignity and worth ofhimself/herself and others. He/she provides, within the classroom,educational program for the students and may assist in otherprograms within Christian Children's Home of Ohio. While thisposition is employed by the Christian Children's Home of Ohio, theteaching classroom will be located at the Envison Academy classroomat Safe Harbor.
Proficiency in math at allgrade levels is strongly preferred.

Requirements:
Maintain active OhioDepartment of Education Teaching license, general education.
Classroom experience strongly preferred.
Experienceteaching middle and high school students strongly preferred.(7-12)
Must be able to maintain compliance/certificationwith CCHO's requirements for using physical restraints (SCM: SafeCrisis Management), including sufficient strength and completion ofextensive training. Physical ability to respond to crisis.

Instructs assigned classes during theassigned days and times.
Develops and implementscurriculum for instruction that meets the individual needs,interests, and abilities of their students, as well as state andother regulations.
Creates a classroom environment thatis consistently conducive to learning and appropriate to the needsof the students while encouraging open thinking generating newideas and challenge rigid thinking.
Uses classroomtechnology to meet the needs/capabilities of the students in theclassroom.
Strives to meet the unique needs of theclassroom through instruction and action.
Assess theaccomplishments of students on a regular basis, offers feedback tostudents and provides progress reports to the Envision AcademyAdministrator.
Recognizes and differentiates the methodsof instruction on a regular basis to meet the unique needs of theirclassroom and individual students.
Develops classroomexpectations that are congruent with already established campusrules in which the expected classroom behaviors are managed in afair and just manner.
Makes provisions to be availableto students, staff, and administration for education-relatedpurposes before/after the school day when requested to do so.
Attends staff meetings, gives feedback week for Weekly ProgramReviews, and responds to appropriate emails.
Listens toand communicates skillfully with students, staff, andleadership.
Supports the purpose of the schoolthrough/with other staff members and maintains a high expectationof students, oneself, and other professionals.
Encourages and supports learning by displaying a reinforcingpersonality including empathy, humor, and consistency.
Promotes cooperation and team effort through sharedsuccesses.
