Responsibilities

The Public Health Program in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy at Florida State University (FSU) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track 9-month specialized teaching faculty position. We seek a dedicated educator to contribute to the continued growth of our undergraduate and graduate public health programs.

This position carries a standard teaching load of four courses per semester (4/4), with possible reductions for eligible program-related service. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of upper-division undergraduate and graduate public health courses, possibly including epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, and introduction to public health. The faculty member will engage in curriculum development and may teach in both in-person and online formats, depending on program needs. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, serving on undergraduate honors thesis committees, and participating in service activities across the program, college, university, community, and profession.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or DrPH in Public Health or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in epidemiology and/or experience in applied public health is particularly valued.
  • An educator committed to student-centered learning and applied public health education. The program emphasizes preparing students to address real-world public health challenges through evidence-based instruction and meaningful mentorship.
