POSITION: Technical Inside Sales

REPORTS TO: Distribution Manager

LOCATION: Visalia, CA

SALARY: $20.00 to $26.00/per hour, DOE

Established in 1913, Electric Motor Shop is a premier electrical contractor, motor repair shop and electrical supply wholesale distributor. The Electric Motor Shop's state of the art repair facility offers all levels of motor and pump repair, service and rewinding, with 24 hour service availability. Our supply division has one of the largest stocking warehouses in Central California. We also have a fully licensed professional contracting division capable of providing service for small to large industrial projects, including custom panel design and installation, PLC programming, AC drives, and transformer installations.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Inside Sales Representative role provides excellent customer service and technical support for automation products such as PLC, HMI, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and a variety of other industrial automation products. Daily activities include assisting customers, account managers, suppliers and others with detailed information for quotes, orders, invoices, shipping, and tracking to ensure customers' expectations are met in a timely and professional manner.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Proactively introduce and promote stock and focus products and solutions to increase sales to both customers and sales teams.
  • Provide technical support, product information and solutions for PLC, HMI, VFD, and other industrial automation products to customers and sales teams.
  • Achieve rapport with customers and strive to give them the best possible support via phone calls, emails and other forms of communication.
  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product solutions and technical information in a timely manner.
  • Exceed customer's expectations in quotes and orders with timely responses and follow through.
  • Sell products and services, offer add on or up sell products that benefit the customer and suggest alternative products or solutions as needed.
  • Assist and resolve customer requests or problems in a prompt and professional matter.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of new and existing products and their applications.
  • Back up and support other team members as needed.

Required Qualifications (Skills, Education and Experience)

  • High School Diploma with one to two years related experience.
  • California Drivers License with clean driving record.
  • Must be 25 years of age.
  • Willing to participate in drug/alcohol/background screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Initiative, the ability to work independently, flexibility, enthusiasm, resilience, self-confidence, and self-motivation.
  • Basic fundamental understanding of sales skills and techniques.
  • Great communications, relationship building, customer service, prioritization, account forecasting, negotiating, consultative selling and superior organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform without direct supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs: Excel, Outlook, and Word.
