The Educational Foundations Department in the College of Education and Human Services at Millersville University welcomes applications for a Full-Time, Tenure-Track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank beginning Fall 2026.
About the position:Responsibilities include teaching, advising students, scholarly or creative work and department and university service. Actual assignments will depend upon department needs. Candidates for this position should have a strong commitment to preparing teachers, to working with critically minded colleagues of diverse backgrounds, and to contributing to the substantive work of the department and university.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications as well as aligned with the details contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Millersville University Promotion Statement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND PERFORMANCE OF PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Tenure Track faculty are responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate educational psychology, educational technology and/or educational leadership courses. This position requires knowledge and experience in the fields of educational psychology, technology and/or leadership. Instruction will primarily be at the undergraduate level; although graduate courses may also be assigned. Other responsibilities may include working in a Professional Development School (PDS) environment, preparing undergraduate students for certification, supervising student teaching interns, student advisement and curriculum development. Teaching responsibilities may include teaching off campus, in the evenings, on the weekends, and in a variety of online formats. Other responsibilities will include scholarly activities and active membership on various departmental, college, and university committees. Faculty are expected to hold regular consultation hours as well as be able to teach in a variety of delivery modalities.

SERVICE AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE UNIVERSITY AND/OR COMMUNITY:Provide service on an ongoing basis by contributing professionally to department and university governance, the professional community and/or the community at large, in a participatory, developmental, or advisory capacity. Candidates must be willing to participate in undergraduate- and graduate-level curricular activities including assisting in activities associated with maintaining program approval at the state and national levels.

Required Qualifications
- Doctorate or ABD in Educational Foundations or Curriculum and Instruction or related field. Must have evidence of completed doctorate by date of appointment OR, by date of eligibility to apply for reappointment to the second year.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in educational foundations through scholarship, college/ university teaching, and/or professional experience.
- A demonstrated record of scholarship in a chosen field.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and working with diverse student populations.
- Experience working in school/university partnerships.
- Evidence of strong commitment to student learning, teaching excellence, inclusive education, and technology integration.
- Successful interview and teaching demonstration.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- PK-12 Teacher certification in one or more areas.
- Three years of successful teaching experience in classrooms in PK-12 schools.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in education psychology, educational technology and/or educational leadership college/university teaching, and/or professional experience.
- Evidence of successful teaching in higher education and online teaching.
- Experience in school leadership or supervision.
- Active agent of educational change.

- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/classroom environment.
- Teach courses face-to-face at the higher education level using lectures, demonstrations, class discussion, using online tools and/or equipment and/or other appropriate tools appropriate modes of education delivery.
- Speak in a clear voice and hear spoken words.
- Read and write the written word and higher-level statistics/mathematics.
- Manage classroom activities.
- Record and calculate grades, prepare course outline and syllabus, develop course and lesson plans, engage in the selection of appropriate textbooks and other teaching aids necessary to the delivery of instruction.
- Use computer for email, obtain information on websites, prepare class documents, grade papers, submit final grades online and other duties related to teaching and advising students and serving the department, college, university and community.
