Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Social Work at Kutztown University invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year to teach a range of courses in our BSW, MSW, and DSW programs. Experience or willingness to participate in the process of maintaining BSW, MSW, and DSW accreditations is preferred. Collegial support in community service and scholarship, including opportunities for research and development in community-based services, will be provided. Collaboration with faculty in developing theory for the program's emerging practice perspective: the Family-In-Environment is expected. Successful applicants should be able to teach all levels of courses, from undergraduate to doctoral, during both week and weekend schedules. They will be expected to teach foundation and advanced generalist seminar courses and specialized courses in practice, school social work, leadership, and management. Skills with online learning platforms and experience in leadership. management, school social work, and practice are required. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DSW)
Preferred Qualifications- Demonstrated community service, experience with diverse populations, and a record of scholarship preferred.
- Demonstrated success in implementing a scholarly agenda is expected.
