Job Purpose

Ensure everyone on the floor is following safety guidelines, quality guidelines so we have quality work leave the DS shop, supporting DS techs to hone their skill levels, supporting production needs, following up on PM activities & everything is completed at the end, following up with weekly shot counts on dies and injection components DS is responsible for

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure required drawings are up to date, perform drawing reviews for compatibility, ensure 2D/3D models for die and Faro scanning are up to date from PEBU, perform drawing changes, ensure spare parts are updated and stocked in MRO, assist with design changes for current and new model products/dies.
  • Support new die trials and die approvals, investigate new tooling, die builds & countermeasure past problem history, work with TS and PEBU for Die specifications.
  • Support with new insert and new cavity design and trials.
  • Investigate improvement / countermeasure activity for production issues /4 blocks.
  • Support with in-house and supplier new designs and design changes.
  • Support with die service spare tools needed and stocked in MRO/updat

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Minimum Educational Qualifications  BS in Manufacturing Engineering, an associate’s degree with 2 years of additional relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience with no degree

Minimum Experience 0-6 years’ experience based on education, preferred experience with High Pressure Die Casting

Other Job-Specific Skills

Computer skills Excel / Power Point / Able to read drawings 2D

Mechanical/manufacturing knowledge

 

Working Conditions

  • 50% office environment: sitting for extended periods and working on techs on the floor equipment
  • 40% manufacturing environment: PPE required at all times in manufacturing environment, standing for prolonged periods (up to 8hrs), occasionally lifting up to 40lbs, occasionally working inside injection machines, potential exposure to heat, occasional exposure to dust, oil or grease

Up to 10% travel required, including international (Japan, Canada, Mexico)
