Trade Compliance- FTZ Specialist at TEKsystems

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled FTZ Specialist to join our Global Trade Compliance team within a dynamic enterprise environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in U.S. Customs regulations and Foreign Trade Zone operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, optimizing trade processes, and driving operational excellence across our global supply chain.
Key Qualifications:
* 6+ years of progressive experience in import customs compliance within complex organizations (e.g., Fortune 500, professional services firms).
* Licensed Customs Broker strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated advanced FTZ operational experience, including oversight of external service providers and strategic vendor management.
* Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Customs programs, including Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Orders, and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) such as FDA and EPA.
* Proficiency in SAP-GTS and MS Office Suite; ability to leverage technology for compliance and reporting.
* Proven project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
* Expertise in data analytics, KPI development, and performance metrics management.
* Hands-on experience with FTZ audit programs, including design, execution, and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the Global FTZ Program, ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and internal policies.
* Manage external FTZ operators and brokers, conducting weekly governance meetings, validating shipments, and addressing compliance requests.
* Perform audits of FTZ admissions, weekly customs entries, and related documentation to maintain accuracy and integrity.
* Develop and monitor KPIs, producing actionable insights and executive-level reports to measure program effectiveness.
* Evaluate and implement new regulatory requirements, collaborating with regional teams to maintain compliance and mitigate risk.
* Oversee system-related issues, conducting root cause analysis and driving corrective actions.
* Manage classification projects, ensuring accurate tariff assignments and adherence to global standards.
* Present compliance metrics and findings to senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions.
* Conduct desk and on-site audits with external partners to validate operational compliance.
* Author and maintain SOPs and process documentation, ensuring clarity and consistency across the organization.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders, delivering clear, concise updates through presentations, reports, and email correspondence.
