Transactions Specialist / Risk Insurance Associate Attorney at Direct Counsel

Overview
Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level corporate associate to join a leading AmLaw 100 firm’s corporate practice. This role focuses on insurance and indemnification matters across a wide range of transactions. The firm is primarily looking to fill this position in New York, but will also consider strong candidates in other U.S. office locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on representations & warranties insurance policies and other transactional risk insurance products.

• Provide strategic guidance on indemnification matters in connection with corporate transactions.

• Collaborate with attorneys and clients across offices to manage complex deals and negotiations.

• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents with a focus on insurance-related terms.

• Manage multiple projects independently while also working collaboratively in team settings.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.

• Admission to practice in the jurisdiction where applying.

• 2–6 years of experience in the transactional risk insurance space.

• Prior experience as a broker or underwriter in this area is highly preferred.

• Strong academic background and immediately transferable skills.

• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Expected hiring range: $235,000 – $390,000, depending on geographic location and experience.
