The Department of Surgery at MetroHealth System, a Case Western Reserve University affiliate, is seeking applications for the position of Division Director for the Division of Trauma, Critical Care, Burns, and Emergency General Surgery.
About MetroHealth:
- Academic safety-net public hospital and flagship for trauma care in Cleveland
 - American College of Surgeons-verified Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
 - Works within the Northeastern Ohio Trauma System (NOTS) to optimize regional trauma care
 
Position Overview:
The new Division Director will lead and oversee:
- Clinical operations, ensuring excellence in trauma, emergency general surgery, burns, and critical care
 - Education and training for faculty, residents, Advanced Practice Providers, and medical students
 - Research and academic initiatives, fostering growth and innovation in the field
 - Strategic development, working with the Chair and institutional leadership to expand MetroHealths trauma presence regionally and nationally
 
Division Highlights:
- 18 full-time faculty supported by Advanced Practice Providers, residents, and medical students
 - 12,000+ trauma activations annually, with 2,000+ trauma admissions to the Level I center
 - Partnerships with three affiliated hospitals to enhance trauma care across the region
 
Candidate Requirements:
- Board certification in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
 - Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Ohio
 - 7+ years of experience post-training preferred
 - Strong clinical research background and a national presence in the field
 - Eligible for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level at Case Western Reserve University
