Job Description

Are you a team player with a strong work ethic who enjoys working outdoors? Our new tree climber position might be the perfect opportunity for you. Youll be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks assigned to you by the crew leader to support job assignments, including tree trimming, stump grinding, chipping, as well as climbing and ground person duties.


Youll also learn important cabling and rigging techniques from experienced crew members on the job. The ideal candidate is physically capable of performing strenuous work at high heights in unfavorable weather conditions and has strong communication skills. Apply now!

Compensation:

$30 - $40 DOE

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety procedures and policies at work site
  • Perform tree removal services
  • Support ground crew with moving client property away from work area
  • Complete tree maintenance services, tree trimming, and pruning
  • Use equipment and power and hand tools to get the job done
Qualifications:
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and with heights
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs)
  • Valid drivers license required; commercial drivers license (CDL) preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork ethic required

Minimum Requirements

  • Prior experience in tree climbing or successful completion of a recognized climbing training program
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous work outdoors in all weather conditions, including climbing, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to follow safety procedures and wear assigned PPE at all times
  • Ability to travel to job sites and work scheduled hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with MRS and/or SRS climbing systems
  • Chainsaw operation skills in tree care environments
  • Knowledge of tree species, defects, and pruning techniques
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and situational awareness

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding, outdoor position that involves exposure to heights, uneven terrain, loud equipment, and variable weather conditions. Tree climbers must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, ascending trees over 60 feet tall, and working in harnesses for extended periods.
