Description :A Unit Assistant I completes duties as assigned under the direct supervision of healthcare staff, and communicates effectively with members of the care delivery team. While in the program, a Unit Assistant I will be pre-assigned to explore different healthcare departments, gaining exposure to various career pathways. Upon completion of the program, a Unit Assistant I will complete an interview for selection to potentially advance to a Unit Assistant II role in chosen area of interest. The Unit Assistant I will be: ▪ Exposed to the daily routines of healthcare workers. ▪ Provided opportunities to identify career interests in healthcare. ▪ Provided exposure to academic, technical, and personal skills required in healthcare professions. ▪ Complete assigned tasks per department assigned.Education: ▪ Required: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a high school or high school equivalent program ▪ Preferred: Enrolled in a Health Science Program Experience: ▪ No prior experience required Skills: ▪ Must be 16 years of age or older ▪ Able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients, and families ▪ Ability to problem solve ▪ Flexibility and ability to accept direction from members of the care team Licensure/Certification/Registration: ▪ N/A
