Job Description


Vice President of Compliance
Location: Fully Onsite
Reports To: CEO & Board of Directors
Compensation: $170,000 - $200,000
 
About the Opportunity
Our firm has been retained to identify a Vice President of Compliance for a rapidly expanding, private equity-backed healthcare organization that operates freestanding emergency care centers and other clinical facilities. The company is dedicated to delivering high-quality emergency care while maintaining operational excellence and strict adherence to regulatory standards.
 
This role will oversee the organization’s enterprise-wide compliance function, ensuring effective governance, risk management, and regulatory alignment as the company continues to scale. The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare compliance expertise, strong leadership presence, and experience managing complex, multi-site operations in a fast-paced clinical environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and evolve the company’s overall compliance strategy, aligning regulatory priorities with business objectives.
  • Build, strengthen, and oversee a comprehensive compliance program across multiple sites.
  • Manage incident response, investigations, and corrective action plans to ensure regulatory compliance and transparency.
  • Oversee EMR compliance, privacy, data integrity, and access control frameworks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations (OIG, CMS, HIPAA, EMTALA, Stark, Anti-Kickback, etc.) and operationalize requirements in clinical settings.
  • Conduct internal audits, investigations, and risk assessments; report findings and recommendations to leadership and the board.
  • Design and deliver compliance and ethics training programs for clinical and administrative teams.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and licensing documentation to meet all applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Partner with legal counsel and operational leadership to advise on compliance risks and regulatory changes.
 
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive compliance leadership experience in healthcare, ideally within emergency, urgent care, or multi-site environments.
  • Proven success building or enhancing compliance programs within growing healthcare organizations.
  • Expertise in federal and state healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Legal or regulatory training preferred (law degree or equivalent compliance background).
  • Experience managing audits, investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage senior leadership and boards.
  • Experience with EMR compliance, data privacy, and access control systems.
 
Preferred Experience
  • Background in private equity-backed healthcare organizations.
  • Knowledge of freestanding ER regulations, licensing, and disclosure requirements.
  • Compliance certifications such as CHC or CCEP.
  • Experience engaging with state or federal healthcare regulatory agencies.
