Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Web Strategist II uses specialized technical and web-centered digital marketing knowledge to manage or support college-level websites. Works under moderate supervision.

Additional Department Summary: This position supports divisional communications for the Division of Student Life through content organization, accessibility review, and routine content updates. Reporting through the Student Life Communications Web Team, this position helps ensure divisional communications content meets accessibility and usability standards while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and clarity across platforms.

The incumbent reviews and updates content across WordPress sites, newsletters, and related platforms to ensure compliance with accessibility standards, including WCAG and Title II. Focuses on the structure and accuracy of information rather than visual design. This position is intended for candidates interested in learning and applying accessibility principles to communication materials. The role collaborates with divisional communicators, accessibility specialists, and technology teams to improve the usability and readability of documents, graphics, social media, and other digital and physical communications. Completes required training and promotes a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of web content management experience; OR master's degree and some web content management experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Existing knowledge (or demonstrated ability to learn and apply) accessibility and usability standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 504) and universal design and plain language principles. Comfortable using a variety of digital tools and platforms, including MS Office, content management systems, and newsletter platforms. Detail-oriented with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to organize and structure information for readability and clarity. Ability to review, evaluate, and audit materials to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. Ability to collaborate with content creators and provide constructive feedback toward accessibility and compliance. Demonstrated commitment to supporting all students.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in writing, web content, information management, accessibility, or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Accessibility, or related field. 2+ years of experience in digital content creation and/or accessibility compliance. Experience in higher education or public sector communications. Knowledge of tools like DocuSign. Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS).
