Job Title: Welder and Fabricator
Job Description
Join our team as a Welder and Fabricator where you will be responsible for building or manufacturing items to drawing specifications and bills of material, ensuring production quality and quantity standards are met. You will proficiently use precision measuring equipment, operate power and material handling equipment, and develop specifications from general descriptions. Your role involves resolving manufacturing problems in collaboration with supervisors, engineering, and production personnel. A familiarity with both metric and inch systems, as well as computers, is essential.
Responsibilities
- Build or manufacture items according to drawings and bills of material.
- Ensure production quality and quantity standards are met.
- Use precision measuring equipment proficiently.
- Collaborate with supervisors and engineering to resolve manufacturing problems.
- Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials in a timely manner.
- Operate power equipment and material handling equipment, such as forklifts and cranes.
- Develop specifications and draw sketches for manufacturing parts or products.
- Work with both metric and inch systems.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, pneumatics, hydraulics, machine building, MIG and TIG welding, and electrical work.
- Ability to understand and utilize basic drawings and bills of material.
- Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience for Level I, 4 years for Level II, and advanced skills for Level III.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Possession of personal hand tools for task performance.
- Basic knowledge of metallurgy.
- Leadership qualities and ability to assist in prototype equipment building.
- Capability in performing first part inspections and documenting changes.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Lansing, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
