Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating student performance, and advising students. Teaching assignments may include curriculum courses taught during days and evenings on campus as well as off-site. Qualified applicants must successfully complete welding performance tests in the SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes. Candidates must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsThis position requires an associate degree in welding technology or a closely related field plus related work experience or; a high school diploma and five (5) years work experience to include welding training and teaching theory and application of: SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, oxyacetylene cutting (OAC) and plasma-arc cutting (PAC) processes. An equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience may be considered. All qualified applicants must pass a welding test. Candidates with a high school diploma must complete an associate degree within two (2) years of hire.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred candidates will have an Associate degree in welding technology or a closely related field plus (3) three years work experience. Practical knowledge and experience in all welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW [including pulse-spray] and FCAW). Must be able to track purchase requisitions and other budget/shipping/receiving documents. Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are essential. Must be able to successfully pass a welding skills test in all processes taught within the program. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes, policies and procedures in the field of education
