JOB SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: The WIC Program is seeking a Nutritionist, Dietitian, or RN to provide nutrition education counseling, community referrals, and supplemental food benefits to pregnant women, breastfeeding women, postpartum women, infants, and children under five years of age.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Clinic Manager duties for assigned county(ies)
- Administer personnel policies and procedures; train new employees; conduct performance appraisals; oversee scheduler
 - Ensure staff deliver excellent customer service
 - Quality Assurance monitoring
 - Clinic inventory
 - Outreach
 - Periodic vendor visits as needed
 - Update Community Resource and Referral contact information
 
 - Breastfeeding Promotion
 - Client Certification Duties
 
- Complete certification testing, nutrition assessment, nutrition education, referrals, care plan, and food package issuance in an efficient manner
 - Cross-train to assist in clerical duties when necessary
 - Calibration, maintenance, cleaning, arranging annual state inspection for medical equipment
 
- Meet or exceed caseload goals. Assist in contacting clients for benefit issuance, appointment reminders, etc.
 
- Ensure a monthly participation rate for WIC at or above the state average
 - Ensure appointment slots are 100% filled on a daily basis
 - Accept clinic assignments as scheduled. Travel reimbursement provided for subsequent clinic travel beyond assigned base site or home, whichever results in least mileage.
 
- Help in other areas of the facility as requested by program director
 - Attends monthly manager meetings
 - Be thoroughly familiar with, and review at least annually, Personnel Policies and Procedures of New Hope Services, Inc.
 
1. Basic computer knowledge
2. Experience working in public health, pediatrics, and or obstetrics
EDUCATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:1. QUALIFIED NUTRITIONIST
- Registered Dietitian
 - Registration eligible to sit for RD exam
 - Bachelor or Master Degree in one of the following areas (pending official transcript review):
- Dietetics
 - Nutrition or Nutrition Sciences
 - Public Health Nutrition or Community Nutrition
 - Clinical Nutrition
 
 
OR
2. COMPETENT PROFESSIONAL AUTHORITY
- Registered Nurse (with valid Indiana licensure)
 - Bachelor or Master Degree, through a review of official transcripts from an accredited college, includes a study of nutrition. These degree include but are not limited to:
- Family and Consumer Sciences
 - Food and Nutrition in Business
 - Nutrition, Fitness, and Health
