Located in San Francisco’s historic Jackson Square, Verjus is a European-inspired cave à manger from Michael and Lindsay Tusk, part of the Quince & Co. family that includes Michelin-starred Quince, Cotogna, and Tusk Events. Verjus offers an ingredient-driven, convivial dining and wine experience grounded in craft, community, and discovery.
We’re seeking a Wine Director to lead and elevate our dynamic beverage program. This is an opportunity to steward one of San Francisco’s most distinctive cellars, shape a thoughtful and adventurous wine list, and mentor a talented team of sommeliers and front-of-house professionals.
What You’ll DoOversee all wine purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships
Lead the sommelier and FOH teams during service and education sessions
Manage wine storage, organization, and accuracy across all deliveries and transfers
Maintain budget alignment and submit monthly consignment reports
Collaborate with leadership on special events, tastings, and program development
Foster a culture of learning, curiosity, and exceptional hospitality
3-5+ years of fine-dining or Michelin-level wine experience
Deep, diverse wine knowledge
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proven ability to manage purchasing, budgets, and inventory systems
CMS, WSET, or equivalent certification preferred
Salary commensurate with experience
