Job DescriptionVinifera Wine Marketing is a woman-owned wine brokerage representing family-owned, artisanal wineries from California, Oregon and Washington and imported wine from The Sorting Table Imports. We specialize in working with producers who are rooted in history—or boldly shaping the future of wine—and we're passionate about telling their stories through the wines they produce. We are committed to delivering both outstanding wines and hospitality to our accounts. Our work is relationship-driven and rooted in integrity. Vinifera Wine Marketing recently acquired Swirl Wine Brokers and due to this expansion, and we are seeking Wine Sales Representatives to manage and grow the East Bay territory of Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Walnut Creek, Danville, Pleasanton. Role Description:The Wine Sales Representative will be responsible for managing and growing account base within the defined territory, building strong relationships with on and off premise buyers, scheduling tastings appointments and meetings with wine buyers and accounts, participating in winery visits, trade events, and industry tastings. Someone who already has buyer/account relationships and wine sales experience is preferred, and you need to reside in the territory. Reps who are looking to pick up another portfolio should apply, but due to the portfolio expansion, we are looking for individuals who currently sell one portfolio. Anyone who was a part of the wine layoffs should apply. Vinifera is a highly organized company, and there is room for growth with our portfolio expansion. Qualifications:ALLExperience in Wine Sales and the Wine & Spirits IndustryKnowledge of the Beverage IndustryFamiliarity of the territory and key trade accountsStrong Customer Service and Sales skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPassion for wine and a desire to continuously learn about the industryKnowledge and understanding of wines from Italy, France and AustriaSales experience in the wine tradeValid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportationAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbsDuties:Manage and grow your account base within the defined territoryBuild strong, ongoing relationships with retail and restaurant buyersRepresent a dynamic portfolio of family-owned, artisanal wineries Schedule tastings appointments and meetings with wine buyers and accountsParticipate in winery visits, trade events, and industry tastingsAwareness of upcoming new account openings and using new account leads to develop new business Maintain accurate records in our CRM and follow up with accounts consistentlyContribute to regular team calls, meetings, and trainingsCompensation:This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Compensation is based on commission.
