Our Story
We’re creating a future of work that works for everyone.
Henry Hire began with a single observation: the job market was broken for both sides.
As an ex-recruiter, I witnessed first hand the pain of job seekers struggling through automated rejection systems and companies drowning in frustrated applicants. My wife Alexa and I started this company together, combining our backgrounds in recruiting and AI development with our dream of creating something more human in the job market.
What began as a small recruiting firm has evolved and changed into something more meaningful—a comprehensive career ecosystem designed to guide people through every stage of their working life.
Who We Are
We’re not a massive corporation with shareholders to please. We’re people who care about other people finding meaningful work that supports the lives they want to live.
We’re a team with shared perspectives on the career landscape:
- Recruiting Experience: Years spent in the trenches of talent acquisition taught us what really happens behind the hiring curtain—experience we now use to create more transparency for job seekers.
- Technology Background: Before recruitment, I worked in AI development and machine learning, giving us a unique skillset to create advanced career tools while understanding the very real human impacts of automation.
- Industry Connections: During our time as recruiters, we built connections with people across industries, connections who contribute their expertise which informs our career paths, skill trees, and market information.
Our Mission
To democratize career development by uniting human insight with free tools and opportunities, creating pathways for everyone regardless of where they began, are, or want to be.
We believe everyone deserves:
- Clear visibility into potential career paths
- Access to legitimate, vetted job opportunities
- Tools to make life-changing decisions about their professional future
- A supportive community during any stage of your journey
Our Vision
We envision a future where:
- Career advancement isn’t gatekept by expensive certifications or insider networks
- People are empowered, not threatened, when changing careers
- The lines between traditional employment, freelancing, and entrepreneurship becomes fluid
- Everyone has access to the information they need to survive an increasingly automated workforce
- Professional identity includes personality and life outside work—not just corporate achievement
Why We’re Ad-Supported
We refuse to monetize career anxiety.
We’ve made a conscious decision to put our money where our mouth is by keeping Henry Hire free for job seekers, gig workers, and anyone exploring career options. Here’s why:
We refuse to monetize career anxiety. In a world of subscription fatigue—paid job boards, resume builders, and premium memberships—the last thing someone needs when unemployed or underemployed is another expense.
The ads you see support our commitment to keep full-featured career tools accessible to everyone at no charge. They allow us to:
Maintain and improve our interactive career paths
Develop new tools like our salary calculator, typing speed practice test and job oracle
Manually verify job opportunities, filtering out outdated or scam listings
Create detailed industry guides and resources
We’re constantly balancing user experience with sustainability, and we promise to keep ads as unobtrusive as possible while maintaining our commitment to free access to our basic tools.
The Henry Hire Difference
What makes us different from other career sites?
Human Verification: Every single job on our platform is reviewed, and verified by our team. We don’t use crawlers, or non-human moderation—not even for paid listings. This means no scams, no bait-and-switch “job training programs,” and no fake positions with hidden location requirements. All jobs link directly to employers’ official application methods or are handled directly through Henry Hire.
Visual Career Mapping: Our interactive career trees show the actual pathways to advancement, informed by real industry professionals.
Balanced Perspective: We serve both job seekers and businesses without favoring either side. We do not automatically approve paid job listings, and we never compromise our integrity to retain clients or satisfy stakeholders.
Accessibility First: Our tools and resources remain free for those who need them most.
Quality Always: We carefully maintain thousands of verified job opportunities by filtering out closed listings and third-party companies. We update and verify jobs 4 times daily and rely on user feedback to keep our database current and connect you directly with hiring employers.
