Sony Interactive Entertainment is hiring a UX/UI Design Lead to join an unannounced project within the PlayStation Studios family. This role offers the opportunity to shape a new, community-driven franchise with whimsical characters and a comedic tone. The focus is on creating frictionless, intuitive experiences that bring players together.

About the Role:

The UX/UI Design Lead will guide the user experience from early prototypes to final implementation. This includes technical planning, user flows, playtesting, and final polish. The role involves collaboration with game directors, design leads, and art directors to build interfaces that support gameplay, social systems, and in-game economies.

Responsibilities:

  • Align with the Game Director to understand product vision and player needs.
  • Design UI that supports gameplay, social features, and monetization systems.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director to ensure visual cohesion across the interface.
  • Deliver detailed wireframes, user flow diagrams, information architecture, and interactive prototypes.
  • Partner with analytics and user research teams to validate usability at scale.
  • Document and uphold UX/UI best practices and design pillars.
  • Build and lead a UX/UI team, including hiring, milestone planning, and external vendor coordination.

Required Skills:

  • Experience leading or closely supporting leadership on a live service game.
  • Expertise in creating functional prototypes and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Strong grasp of user-centered design principles.
  • Collaborative, team-first approach with strong communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience designing across PC, console, and mobile platforms.
  • Familiarity with global gaming markets or esports.
  • Background in multiplayer game UX design.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine development.
