
Senior Technical Artist (Remote)
CD PROJEKT RED is hiring a Senior Technical Artist to join the team working on Project Orion, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. This role plays a key part in developing in-house tools and refining Unreal Engine 5 processes that empower content teams to reach new creative and technical heights.

The Senior Technical Artist will contribute to building scalable, efficient pipelines and tools that enhance content creation workflows. From collaborating with cross-functional teams to mentoring peers, this role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of art and technology.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with art directors, engineers, and content designers to align creative and technical goals.
- Research and integrate new features into Unreal Engine 5, focusing on improving scalability, efficiency, and user experience.
- Build and maintain tools that support the Unreal Engine pipeline (Blueprints, PCG, Editor Scripts, Geometry Scripting, and more).
- Ensure high-quality asset integration with strong attention to performance and memory efficiency.
- Identify and solve bottlenecks in workflows, streamlining production processes.
- Write clean, optimized, and maintainable code aligned with project requirements.
- Create documentation and provide training for internal development teams.
- Mentor junior technical artists, encouraging a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a technical art role within the games industry.
- Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
- Hands-on experience with Unreal toolsets including Blueprints, PCG, Editor Utility Widgets, and scripting.
- Strong grasp of procedural content workflows.
- Proficient in automation and tool development using C++ and/or Python.
- Experience with asset optimization techniques for performance and memory.
- Familiarity with 3D software like Blender, Maya, or Substance Painter.
- Creative problem-solving skills and an ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
- Demonstrated leadership, goal setting, and initiative-taking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
Nice to Have:
- Solid understanding of GPU workflows, including lighting and compute shaders in Unreal Engine 5.
- Experience with network automation, batch processing, or packaged build systems.
