Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Cloud Software team, a group focused on building and supporting tools that power the governance and enrichment of Blizzard’s cloud infrastructure. The team supports both established systems and new initiatives that connect multiple infrastructure providers for managing Blizzard’s games and services.

About the Role:

This role focuses on developing scalable, reliable cloud software in Go (Golang), enabling seamless management of services across a multi-provider cloud environment. Ideal for experienced engineers who enjoy writing clean code, collaborating with teams across an organization, and mentoring others.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop software applications in Go with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Conduct code reviews and implement best practices to maintain high code quality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for developed systems.
  • Monitor and address operational issues, offering support to end users as needed.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical challenges promptly and proactively.
  • Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative development culture.
  • Keep up with emerging trends, tools, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Go programming.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Comfortable with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Background in building scalable distributed systems in a cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or leading major features.
  • Proven ability to debug across the full stack in production environments.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with HashiCorp tools (Vault, Nomad, Consul).
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Vue.js, Nuxt, and Figma.
  • Experience collaborating with SRE/DevOps teams.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.

Location & Schedule:

  • Remote (USA-based), with preference for working during Pacific Time business hours.
