About the Role
Join Disney Digital Entertainment as we build the digital front door to the world of Disney, creating a groundbreaking new game experience using UEFN (Unreal Engine Fortnite). You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team crafting interactive, immersive adventures across Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars universes.
We’re looking for a Gameplay Engineer passionate about bringing iconic stories to life in the UEFN ecosystem. If you love game development, Fortnite modding, and Disney’s franchises, this is your opportunity to help shape the future of interactive entertainment.
This role will report to the Director, Gameplay Engineering.
What You’ll Do:

Develop interactive games in UEFN using Verse and Fortnite’s creative tools.

Write Verse code and collaborate with design, production, and art teams to build engaging, polished gameplay.

Support designers with technical guidance and creative problem-solving to overcome development limitations.

Maintain high coding standards with a focus on stability, scalability, and player experience.

Stay current with UEFN, Fortnite devices, and trends in the creator community.

Represent Disney values and champion a guest-first mindset in all work.
What We’re Looking For:

4+ years experience in game development (console, PC, mobile, or extensive modding).

Hands-on UEFN experience, including custom devices built in Verse.

Deep knowledge of Fortnite’s UGC tools and mechanics.

Strong programming fundamentals (data structures, 3D math, problem-solving).

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Bonus Points:

Experience with Unreal Engine (C++) at a native level.

Background in other UGC platforms like Roblox or Arma 3.

Prior contributions to a commercial game title.

Familiarity with graphics programming, mobile platforms, or online services.
Compensation: $109,400–$168,700/year + bonus & benefits
