DescriptionWork Schedule: 7.00 hours per day (8:30 a.m. 3:30p.m.) 185 days per year (Monday-Friday)Non-Continuing Position with end date TBD.Reports To:Director of Instruction & Categorical ProgramsSalary:Per Non-Represented salary schedule at Code:Job Summary:This position is responsible for providing support to all students families and staff. This position may include but not be limited to the following performance responsibilities knowledge skills and abilities.Minimum Qualifications:An Associate or higher degree with equivalent of 30 college quarter credits of adult education human development human services family support social work early childhood education child development psychology or another field directly related to their job responsibilities preferred. These 30 creditscould be included in the degree or in addition to the degree.High school diploma OR high school transcript evidencing a graduation date OR proof of GED1st Aid & Adult/Child CPR trainingBlood Bourne Pathogen TrainingValid Washington State Drivers licenseHigh School diploma or equivalentExperience and/or training with cultural ethnic and language diversity preferredSuccessful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint ClearanceProof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later)I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control ActCompletion of all district-required training within thirty (30) calendar days from hire dateEssential Job Functions:This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:Build relationships with families and identify needsConnect families to school and community resourcesSupport parent involvement family engagement home visitsCoordinate family events with the support of school staffUse data to guide family support servicesMaintain professionalism training and district complianceIdentify and support Latino students who are at risk of not graduatingWork closely with counselors to monitor academic progress graduation credits and requirementsProvide case management and maintain Latino student recordsSupport schools organize info-nights: FAFSA college scholarship applications events senior seminars and graduation planningAccompany students on college visits when neededConnect students and families with social servicesAttend Family NightsAttend required school/district trainings in Culturally Responsive Practices TraumaInformed Practices and/or social-emotional learning initiatives Serve as a link between school students and familiesTrack data using district student information systemsMaintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regular work hours Perform additional duties as assignedDesired Skills:Ability to stay in compliance with all requirementsAbility to successfully train and support parent and community volunteersAbility to interact positively and confidentially with students fellow workers and the general publicAbility to exercise sensitivity in dealing with individuals of diverse socio-economic backgrounds cognitive and physical abilities as well as with individuals of diverse cultural ethnic backgroundsSkills in organization and time managementSkills in verbal and written communicationKnowledge and application of safety procedures related to performance responsibilitiesKnowledge and skills required for district social-emotional curricula and assessmentsWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is not confined to a work area; he/she must be able to perform home visits drive to other locations as (Boys and Girls Club Youth Center Service Center etc.) as needed; required to have precise control of fingers and hand movements; experiences constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines; must be able to work at a computer monitor for prolonged periods; and must be able to crouch crawl bend kneel and lift/move objects such as files boxes etc. The employee is required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and is exposed to infectious diseases carried by children. The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this particular environment and can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges.Evaluation:The Director of Regional Apprenticeship Pathways shall periodically evaluate this position pursuant to the currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria.
