EXCELLENCE.As a Warehouse Team Member you are expected to maintain Grand Prairies Core Values in all communications with employees visitors outside service providers.RoleThe purpose of the Warehouse Team Member is to receive; store; and distribute material; tools; equipment; and products within the warehouse ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.ResponsibilitiesAssist shipping and receiving with loading and unloading trucks checking in merchandise matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processingRead customer orders work orders shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved gathered or distributed and/or shippedMove materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.Sort and place materials or items on racks shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size type style color or product codeFile requisitions work orders or requests for materials tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage areaEnsure warehouses are accessible and safe for salespeople and customer trafficPick and stage customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping departmentMark materials with identifying information using appropriate methodsOpen bales crates and other containersRecord amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer programAssist in counting physical inventory and cycle countsWeigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standardsAbility to maneuver box trucks into dock and follow docking proceduresMay be assigned facilities maintenance duties as neededComplete requisition forms to order supplies from other departmentsAlways organize warehouse and work area for orderlinessEducation & Training RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED or equivalent years of experienceWork Experience Requirements1 year of prior warehouse experience1 year of prior experience in forklift operationPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentAbility to stand reach lift bend kneel stoop climb push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less for up to 10 hours per dayExposure to variation in temperature including work for prolong periods in a freezer environmentExpectationsAble to manage working in a diverse environmentProblem solve conflict as the need arisesAbility to communicate effectivelyFollow detailed instructionsCritical thinking and decision makingMust have basic math skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to hear and seeUnderstand and follow First in First Out (FIFO) and First Expire First Out Policy (FEFO)Understand basic food safety requirementsAbility to safely operate a forklift and pallet jackAbility to safely operate a straight truckValid Drivers License preferredGrand Prairie Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
