Job Description SummaryThe 1st Shift Operations Leader will provide daily leadership and direction for manufacturing operations supporting Power Nozzle Repair cell priorities: safety quality delivery and cost. You will be expected to make business critical decisions in a timely manner while demonstrating leadership in communicating business goals programs and processes for the Power Nozzle Repair cell. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems develop and execute objectives for yourself and others and effect short-term and some long-term business goals. This role will also support the growth of fast-paced lean lines giving the candidate the opportunity to grow lean and leadership skills.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:Develop coordinate lead and execute daily production plans consistent with the goals and objectives of the departmentDrive performance metrics and track results for key business priorities as defined by your role i.e. safety quality materials management fulfillment productivity and system complianceProvide direction and support needs for assigned production associates and/or SAP specialists which includes: resource and coverage planning scheduling overtime and supporting cell priorities.Monitor adherence to daily production goalsDrive cultural change during lean line growth and expansionDrive daily schedule attainment to meet all internal and external customer commitments with top quality at the lowest cost while implementing a strategy to reduce cycle times drive VCP reduce in-process inventory levels and improve quality and safetyWork with cross-functional peers to troubleshoot and resolve technical and quality issues as they ariseSupport encourage and facilitate core manufacturing principles by providing adequate time for training and for teams to accomplish continuous improvement projectsWork to maintain and further develop a Visual Management including support for a 5S program materials and metric displaysDevelop and support the growth of all employeesSupport all company workplace policies including attendance and safety objectivesWork with HR to develop a performance oriented work environment encompassing timely performance appraisals reviews for new employees and timely disciplinary action when warrantedMonitor performance to the plan and take pro-active action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the plan. This includes the use of and even creation of L1 and L2 Communication boards.Ensure compliance with business and quality standardsOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications:Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturingEligibility Requirements:Ability and willingness to work with the off-shift leaders to ensure production demands are communicated and met.Flexibility to work across both planning and operations supervision responsibilitiesDesired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skills.Leadership program graduate (OMLP EEDP)Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Ability to influence others and lead small teams.Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.Effective problem identification and solution skills.Proven analytical and organizational ability.SAP/BMS knowledge is preferredGE Vernova offers a great work environment professional development challenging careers and competitive compensation. Relocation Assistance Provided: YesFor candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $90400.00 and $150500.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
