Our Adapted Physical Education Teachers impact students lives by:Developing Individual Educational Programs for students with varying functioning levelsDeveloping long and short-term learning goals and objectives according to program guidelines and the IEPConducting daily classroom activities reflecting IEP goals and objectivesEstablishing an instructional pace consistent with students learning processCommunicating with parents/guardians about student progressCompiling maintaining and distributing to the teacher of record necessary service logs progress reports and any other required student recordsFacilitating extra-curricular physical education programs for students with exceptionalitiesDeveloping a physical education curriculum and program appropriate to the exceptional needs of students and the Louisiana content standardsDeveloping and maintaining appropriate and current records and reportsMeeting all reporting deadlines set by the school school district and the LDOEQuickly implementing feedback and goal-setting into lesson deliveryCollaborating with teammates in grade-level and subject-level teamsParticipating in the life of the school including student activities and eventsMaintaining a classroom culture conducive to student achievementParticipating in daily weekly and quarterly meetings about student achievementTaking on other tasks as neededWhat We Offer:Click here for more information about our innovative compensation system. At Constellations we prepare students to achieve their highest independent level of functioning. The Constellations Program will support students in meeting their functional skill needs as well as the academic skills aligned to the LEAP Connect. While this program is geared primarily towards students with Autism it is open to other students with limited to no verbal skills intellectual impairments and similar exceptionalities.
