Teachers are close with leaders and enjoy a warm relationship with colleagues.ResponsibilitiesSupport Montessori practices and lesson plans centered around students' developing social, intellectual, and emotional skillsPromote student independence, intellectual curiosity and intrinsic motivationEstablish and uphold classroom routines to ensure a focused, safe and caring environmentGet to know each child extremely well to identify individual student interests and needsCollaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standardsQualificationsAssistant Teacher Certification required (must be certified within 3 months of employment), Assistant Teachers onlyBachelor's degree or higher, Lead Teachers onlyAt least two years of teaching experience in Pre-K is preferredExperience teaching in a Montessori school, preferably in an urban settingPassion for building a strong relationship with each individual childDemonstrated ability to create a positive, organized, student centered classroom cultureA strong sense of personal accountability for student achievementUnshakeable conviction that all students can learn at a high levelCompensation & BenefitsThe salary range for the Assistant Teacher is $47,000 - $68,000; the salary range for the Montessori Lead Guide is $65,000 - $107,000, and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final salary may be adjusted based on experience and qualifications.
