2026 Summer Internship Energy and Climate Planning (Bachelors or Masters Remote or Hybrid)ICFs Energy and Climate Planning Interns contribute to the development of innovative analytical high-quality products and services typically working on multiple projects with all levels of Interns are given opportunities to work on assignments that foster growth and allow them to develop solutions within the policy power gas renewable energy distributed resources and climate planning sectors. Through client engagements colleague and peer interactions and specialized training ICF Interns develop subject matter expertise and project management skills.This is a full-time 10-week internship that begins in early June 2026. Work may be done remotely from any U.S. location or hybrid from our Reston VA or Crystal City VA office for those local to the area. At this time we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance for this internship.As a Climate and Energy Planning Intern you will:Perform advanced quantitative andeconomic analysis of energy and environmental marketsContribute to the development andenhancement of ICF proprietary models and databasesEvaluate the impact of future regulation and support the development of client strategies to managechangeWrite analysis for major corporate and government clients deliverablesSupport the development of research synthesis reports industry benchmarking quantitative analysis and policy summariesContribute to business development and marketing efforts and thought leadership development through market research data analysis and creation of marketing content.Basic Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program studying Energy Policy Climate Economics Mathematics Business OperationsResearch Engineering or related fieldPreferred Qualifications:Currently enrolled in a Masters degree program studying Energy Policy Climate Economics Mathematics Business OperationsResearch Engineering or related fieldStrong interest in one or more of these areas: energy economics energy finance climate greenhouse gas accounting operations research and energy policyanalysisThe ability to work with and understand technical concepts while also being able to communicate them to non-technical personnel Basic knowledge of RPythonand/or other coding languagesStrong organizational and project management skillsStrong analytical skillsand capabilities in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)Working knowledge of US energy markets policies and technology.Working at ICFICF is a global advisory and technology services provider but were not your typical consultants. Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and competencies that align to the specified role geographic location education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
