Join us and take your place in space.The Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Undergraduate UI & Advanced Visualization Development Intern for the Engineering Applications Department (EAD) within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This position will be full-time, 100% onsite at our office in El Segundo, CA.Additional onsite work locations include Colorado Springs, CO or Chantilly, VA.Job SummaryInformation Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers.EAD develops a wide variety of innovative tools and applications to support civil, commercial, and national security space systems. From virtual and augmented reality, to web, cloud, and desktop applications; EAD evaluates and creates unique software tools that present data and analysis to key decision makers.What You'll Be DoingDevelop user-friendly and interactive visualizations for engineering applicationsCollaborate with subject-matter experts to implement graphical user interfaces and enhance user experienceUtilize graphics visualization and data visualization techniques to help engineers solve space and ground system engineering problemsPrepare and deliver presentations on project progress and results to team members and stakeholdersIdentify and recommend opportunities for new capabilities and researchTraining and mentorship will be providedWhatCorporateSkillsYou'll BringStrong written and oral communication skillsMust work well in a team environment.Possess organizational, time management and project management skills.Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need.Interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations.What You Need to be SuccessfulMinimum RequirementsCurrently enrolled fulltime in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related disciplineAvailability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.Minimum GPA of 3.0Experience with JavaScript programmingExperience with frontend development in ReactDevelopment experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, Godot etc.)Computer graphics or multimedia development experienceAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a teamSelf-motivation and a willingness to take initiativeThis position requires the ability to obtainand maintaina security clearance,which is issued by the US government. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
