2627 Head Football Coach, Durango High School at Durango School District 9-R

Durango School District is accepting applications for a Head Football Coach at Durango High School. The position is for the 2026-2027 school year. Preseason for football will begin as early as January or February depending on the hire date.Preference will be given to applicants who are able to also hold a position at Durango High School as a licensed teacher permanent licensed substitute or support staff role (special education paraprofessional security specialist administrative assistant).This position is responsible for all aspects of the Football Program at Durango High School to include but not limited to the following:-supervision mentoring and assisting in the evaluation of assistant coaches-complete program development from the C level to the Varsity level-player retention-administration of budget-team supervision and discipline-care and inventory of uniforms and equipment-care of facilities-complete annual required CHSAA coach certifications prior to the official CHSAA start date-effective and timely communication with school administration players and parents-involvement with middle school and community based programs-fundraising-practice competition and travel planning for all levelsMinimum Qualifications:Fundamental knowledge of Football Experience building and maintaining a quality football programExperience working with related school aged athletes/studentsAbility to work as an integral part of the coaching staffCurrent medical injury treatment course workDurango School District is an equal opportunity educational institution and will not discriminate on the basis of race color sex religion national origin ancestry creed age marital status sexual orientation genetic information disability or need for special education services in admissions access to treatment or employment in educational programs or activities which it operates or any other applicable status protected by federal state or local law.
