2nd Shift CNC Machinist at Aerotek

CNC Machinist

We are seeking two dedicated 2nd shift CNC Machinists to join a large machine shop located in Santa Ana, CA. The role involves performing set-ups and operating various CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up CNC lathes, mills, and manual machines to support production jobs efficiently.
• Maintain and update setup procedures for all critical processes.
• Work from blueprints, job routings, and tooling instructions to ensure close tolerances.
• Use computer skills to transfer programs to a variety of CNC machines.
• Inspect parts to ensure they meet both dimensional and visual print requirements.
• Complete all required documentation for jobs, including part measurements and shop floor paperwork.
• Train and mentor less experienced machinists, focusing on machine setup.
• Operate more than one machine where cycle time permits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

• Experience with CNC lathes and mills, especially with Brother and Haas machines.
• Proficiency in reading and working from blueprints and tooling instructions.
• Strong computer skills for transferring programs to CNC machines.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to perform light setups and program writing or editing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with Mazak machines is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

The position is based in a large machine shop with approximately 50 staff members, spread across three different buildings dedicated to various production processes. The 2nd shift operates from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, with options for overtime.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
