2nd Shift_ Line and Surface Plate Inspector 2_ Onsite at Raytheon
JOB DESCRIPTION

Collins Aerospace in Rockford, IL site aids in assembling the Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines have been used to save aircrafts and over 2,600 lives.
What You Will Do:
Must have some knowledge of shop mathematics.
Ability to make first piece approval with assistance as necessary.
Must have ability to learn set-up and check-in procedures where standard gauging is not available nor inspection procedures established using CMM or standard measuring instruments.
Works with a minimum of assistance and interfaces with engineers and customers.
Demonstrates ability to learn systems of records and disposition of work and handles this work promptly and accurately.
Must be able to perform data entry operations and operate CMM's to make accurate inspection checks with minimum assistance.
Performs with assistance the inspection in Quality Assurance/Engineering Lab, CMM and bench inspections for engineering checks, does receiving inspection purges and is responsible for casting dimensional checks and over-checks.
Maintains the files for packing slips and test data in Receiving Inspection.
Assists in preparation and presentation of parts to customers (in customer buy-off area).
Performs random audits of manufacturing processes, products and certified operators with some assistance.
Participates in maintenance of audit records for certified operators and inspects noncertified operators/assemblers' work.
Performs set-ups and operates all CMM's (excluding PML) with assistance.
Assists operators with gauging set-up and assists certified operators with first piece inspection with minimal assistance.
Performs dimension-M (final) inspection with minimal assistance.
Able to write non-conformance tags (using an electronic system) for rejects.
Performs inspection of purge hardware for stockroom, RIP and bench locations.
Provides inspection support on special programs where contractual requirements necessitate inspection to be distinct from assembly (e.g. Space Shuttle) with assistance.
This position is 2nd Shift; Monday-Friday 3:30pm to 11:30pm. Training during the first 120 days will be on first shift; Monday-Friday, 6:45am to 3:15pm.

The pay rate for this role is $35.47. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
