2nd Shift Materials Management/Tooling ManagerCompany:Boeing Aerospace OperationsBoeing is seeking a 2nd Shift Materials Management/Tooling Manager to support F18/C17/F15/E4B/VC25-A VC25-B and AWACS and various other Material and Tools rooms in San Antonio TX.Position Responsibilities:Manages employees performing capacity planning including the coordination scheduling audit and resolution of problems related to the delivery and flow of commoditiesDevelops and executes project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goalsAcquires resources for projects and processes provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvementsDevelops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reportsProvides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processesManages develops and motivates employeesDevelops project or operational plans aligned to departments objectivesImplements plans to ensure business technical and customer requirements are achievedAssigns authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the planReviews plans execution makes appropriate adjustments and resolves issuesMonitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to planForecasts resource needs and obtains and manages personnel facilities services equipment and tools to meet project and daily operating requirementsAcquires deploys and schedules personnel to meet project and operational objectivesReviews approves and implements facility equipment and service plans to maximize productivity and ensure safety security environmental and regulatory complianceCoordinates with providers to achieve timely delivery of resourcesCoaches counsels mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilitiesProvides on-going developmental feedbackRecognizes contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforceDevelops workgroup project or operational goals objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company vision/strategyMeasures progress making adjustments as neededHolds direct reports accountable for achieving goalsAchieves goals for productivity quality and customer satisfactionApplies in-depth understanding of budget management principles and practices to develop and administer project or operating budgetsEnsures work statement is completed on schedule and budgetEstablishes partnerships and relationships with internal customers stakeholders peers and direct reportsConveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup project or process goalsProactively communicates with employees peers (e.g. fellow first-level managers) and customersKeeps others informed by communicating project status conducting and participating in team meetings providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestionsCommunicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectationsImplements policies procedures and documents to ensure consistent execution of processes within workgroup in support of Boeing and regulatory requirementsEnforces company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior safety security use of company property time charging etcIdentifies opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own workgroup project or processEngages and empowers employees to make process improvementsSystematically evaluates proper job classification of employees sets employee goals and objectives manages and evaluates performance to plan on a reoccurring basisAssigns employee salaries based on employee value and Boeing guidelines to provide a fair and equitable work environmentProvides technical direction and guidance to others regarding approved processes tools technology and skills for own projects or processesEnsures workgroup products or processes meet customer company quality industry and regulatory requirementsProvides approval of workgroup technical approaches products and processesThis position may require the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret clearance Post Start may be required.Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements will be required for this position.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):5 years of stockroom/crib procedures experience3 years of experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment3 years of experience working with large aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) inspectionsMust be willing to work variable shifts including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shiftsPreferred Qualifications (Skills/Experience): Experience in a role requiring the purchasing of tooling/material and Management of day to day activities in a tool/material roomExperience usingCribMaster or GoldEsp or related ApplicationsBoeing Materials/Tooling related policy and procedures experienceLEAN Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Tier I & II & III and Integrated Product Team concepts and team dynamics etc5 years of experience conducting Compliance Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Tool Control and/or Audit assessmentsDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana cocaine opioids amphetamines PCP and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits: At Boeing we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract engage and retain the top talent.
