JOB DESCRIPTION

401(k) Retirement Analyst

We are seeking a dedicated Retirement Analyst to support the day-to-day administrative needs of our retirement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for data analysis, reconciliation, and internal process audits, ensuring operational compliance with plan documents. This role requires collaboration with payroll and vendor partners to address data and financial discrepancies, as well as contribution funding and asset reconciliation. Additionally, the Retirement Analyst will assist with report generation, handle participant inquiries, and support annual 401k audit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the retirement team's daily administrative needs.
  • Conduct data analysis, reconciliation, and internal process audits as required.
  • Collaborate with payroll and vendor partners to resolve data and financial discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with operational plan documents.
  • Manage contribution funding and asset reconciliation.
  • Assist in running reports as needed.
  • Address participant inquiries not resolved by the record keeper.
  • Support annual 401k audit inquiries and respond to internal and external requests to ensure a successful audit.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in 401(k) plan-related administration.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and resolve issues.
  • Critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
  • High level of confidentiality to protect employee data.
  • Excellent customer focus and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to standard operating procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, HR, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Understanding of retirement benefits, including loans, hardships, and 5500 filings.
  • Knowledge of retirement regulations, including IRS, DOL, and ERISA.
  • Experience with a Human Resources Information System, preferably Workday.
  • Pension/NQDC knowledge is a plus.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office and two days working remotely once training is complete.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cary, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.33 - $34.33/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
