Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY Inc. KRS Division dba Kaydon Ring & Seal (KRS) is responsible for Aerospace and Industrial applications. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. Our business is fully customer focusedwith products specifically designed for an engine/airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation complex product design very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of KRS.Position Summary:The 4th Shift / 5th Shift Manager will manage analyze and facilitate production activities on 4th and 5th shifts. The Area Manager will be responsible for delivering key performance indicators to include safety quality throughput and productivity metrics. The 4th Shift / 5th Shift Manager will report to the Production Manager.Duties and Responsibilities (including and not limited to):Monitors daily production output and delivers corrective actions.Independently analyzes product and equipment specifications and performance.Executes a daily production meeting to review opportunities for improvement in shift performance.Holds their teams accountable to all plant quality and safety rules.Motivates all team members to achieve daily production goals.Initiate continuous improvement activities that deliver KPI improvements.Coach and mentor 4th and 5th shift supervisors to deliver consistent high-performance.Act as a backup Supervisor when there is absenteeism.Perform defect root cause analysis and mitigation.Perform departmental administrative duties as assigned.Education and Experience Requirements:Must be a US Person.Minimum education HSD or GED with 6 years experience AA degree with 4 years experience BA degree with 4-years experience or BS degree with 2 years. Preference for BS degrees in Engineering Chemistry and related degrees.Minimum of 4-years supervisory experience in manufacturing setting.A minimum of 2 years experience managing exempt direct personnel.Minimum of 5-years experience with Microsoft Office.Demonstrated ability with implementing continuous improvement philosophy that supported improving company metrics.Experience in a QMS environment AS9100 preferred.OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 General Industry cardholder preferred.LSS Green Belt or LSS Black Belt certification preferred.Union experience preferred.Work schedule upon completion of training: Monday 11P-7A OR Thursday 11P-7A; Friday 11P-11A; Saturday 11P-11A.Skill Requirements:Minimum of 4 years blueprint reading with knowledge of GD&T symbols and interpretation.Experience working with lathes mills and grinding.The ability to use precious hand tools for measurements such as calipers micrometers drop gages etc.The ability to read and interpret results from a Comparator.Experience in precision machining of very tight tolerance aerospace parts.Strong oral and written communication skills and high confidence in providing recommendations.Must have an inquisitive nature to understand how factory processes impact results to effect change.Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees.Ability to deliver effective feedback both written and verbal.Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously meeting production goals within time and budgetary constraints.Experience in developing human capital through selection teaching training & mentoring.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to clearly communicate at all levels within the organization both written & verbally.Honesty and strong work ethic; Passion for supervising and problem solving.Benefits Highlights:Safe Harbor 401k Plan with Company match up to 3.5%Medical dental vision and voluntary benefits on the 1st of the month following hire datePTOCompany paid life insurance short-term disability and long-term disabilityTemperature controlled work environment -- yes even on the production floor!KRS Division is an equal employment/affirmative action employer.
