TITLE: TeacherJOB DESCRIPTION:To create a flexible elementary and middle school grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in accordance with each pupils ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor DegreeArizona Elementary Teacher certification. (Early Childhood endorsement OR Early Childhood certification needed for Kindergarten positions)Provisional SEI or full Bilingual or ESL endorsementESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(Essential functions as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act may include any of the following tasks knowledge skills and other characteristics. This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all duties and responsibilities performed by the incumbents of this class.)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in assigned academic area utilizing course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate learning activities.Instruct pupils in subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.Evaluate pupils academic and social growth keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupils progress and interpret the school program.Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health attitude and learning problems.Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays bulletin boards and interest centers.Maintain professional competence through in-service professional development activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.Select and requisition instructional aids and materials; maintain required inventory records.Perform other duties as assigned.DEPARTMENT: Learning and LeadershipSALARY: CertifiedWORK YEAR: Teacher CalendarREPORTS TO: Principal or Department HeadEVALUATION: Teacher EvaluationSUPERVISES: Instructional Assistant(s) (if applicable) Key Skills Experience Working With Students,Classroom Management,Algebra,Behavior Management,Classroom Experience,Computer Operation,EDI,Lesson Planning,Special Education,Teaching,Cordova,Writing Skills Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
