Biologics by McKesson MissionAt Biologics by McKesson, our mission is to simplify access to medication and deliver personalized care that helps patients achieve the best-possible outcomes - one patient, one partner, one therapy at time.The Manager, Patient Access & Reimbursement Operations will lead a team responsible for specialty pharmacy patient access, reimbursement execution, and affordability programs supporting rare disease and high-cost therapies.You’ll own the end-to-end referral-to-therapy process, including benefit verification, prior authorizations, appeals, pharmacy coordination, and patient assistance programs while driving daily operations, team performance, and workflow optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a team supporting patient access, reimbursement, and affordability programsOversee daily workflows, staffing, training, performance, and escalationsProvide direct oversight of reimbursement workflows (benefits, PAs, appeals, PAP)Serve as the primary escalation point for complex access and claim issuesOptimize referral-to-approval workflows to reduce time to therapyPartner cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, Implementation, and Client TeamsEnsure compliance with all regulatory and SOP requirementsSupport client discussions with operational and reimbursement insightsMinimum RequirementDegree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 0-2 years of supervisory experience.Critical Skills:Reimbursement experience including, benefit verification, prior authorizations, appeals patient affordability / PAP programsDemonstrated ability to coach teams through complex reimbursement and access scenarios with direct ownership of daily workflow, escalations, and performanceExperience analyzing operational and financial performance dataProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointAdditional Skills/KnowledgeRare disease, oncology, or ultra-high-cost therapy programsExperience working with manufacturers and specialty pharmaciesWorkflow standardization across multi-site operationsExposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologiesAbility to manage complex issues, function independently, demonstrate flexibility, as well as the ability to work effectively with remote internal and external teams.Work EnvironmentOffice-based / hybridUp to 20% travelWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
